SITUAÇÃO DOS PRIMEIROS MOLARES PERMANENTES NA CLÍNICA DE ODONTOPEDIATRIA DA UNIVERSIDADE DO GRANDE RIO - UNIGRANRIO
Abstract
The aim of this paper was to evaluate the situation of the first permanent molars (1FMP) in the pediatric dentistry clinic of the school of dentistry of UNIGRANRIO University, RJ. A retrospective study was to carried out in 200 odontologic prontuaries of the patients that used to come to the clinic by a period of 2 years. The average age was 8.54 ( ± 1.72) years, with minimum of 5 and maximum of 14 years. A total of 990 1FMP was evaluated, and after being submitted to clinic and interproximal radiographical examination, they had their teeth surfaces (TS) analised by the following criterias: without treatment necessity (WTN); satisfied treatment necessity (STN); non satisfied treatment necessity (NSTN). Th e results showed that the oclusal face was the most affected by caries (50.90%) and the most present NSTN (42.60%), followed by the vestibular face (20.70%).
