The aim of this paper is to analyze the demonstrations of the Pythagorean Theorem developed by the naturalized Brazilian mathematician Salomão Serebrenick. The central figure stood out by performing various roles and making significant contributions to the advancement of national science, including in the field of Mathematics Education, since he was the main editor of the first journal that disseminated such knowledge, the Revista Brasileira de Mathematica Elementar, created in 1929. As a theoretical-mathematical framework, we rely on the concepts of point, plane, line, line segment, congruence, angles, parallel and perpendicular lines, triangles, quadrilaterals, equivalence, and area. The Pythagorean Theorem consists of a²=b²+c², and the demonstrations presented by Serebrenick were constructed from linear relations, all of them being geometric proofs that compare the areas of the squares projected from the legs with the square projected from the hypotenuse. It is expected that the present work will contribute to the dissemination of scientific knowledge, the appreciation of science produced in Brazil, and especially to teaching and learning of mathematics at the national level.
